THE PROBLEM WITH LJ: WE ALL THINK WE ARE SO CLOSE, BUT REALLY, WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT EACH OTHER. SO I WANT YOU TO ASK ME SOMETHING YOU THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME. SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS, BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT. ASK AWAY.
THEN POST THIS IN YOUR LJ AND FIND OUT WHAT PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU.

I am quickly becoming obessed with a film that I doubt will be shown at our local Akron Regal Cinema. Th darling of the fall 2010 film festival circut, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's Howl starring the magnificent James Franco (as Allen Ginsberg), Jon Hamm and Mary-Louise Parker, the film centers around the obscenity trial against Ginsberg's poem Howl in 1957. The trailer can be seen here:
The sad part is I have feeling I'll have to wait for this one on DVD. Our Regal cinema is notorious for not showing "controversial" films.

On Wednesday we discussed "Telephone", and that one's easy for me: I'm a consummate Tarantino fan and even just those references (The Bride from Kill Bill, the prison scene from the Grindhouse Trailer for Werewolf Women of the SS, even a David Bowie lookalike), but "Bad Romance"? Hrm. How about not. I don't know how Russian mobsters related to romance at all. I mean, hell, Viggo Mortenson played one and I didn't even find that mafioso attractive.
However, the Supernatural references at the end are killer.
I'd corner C.S. Forester and ask him who really pushed Captain Sawyer down the hold.
Kidding! Kidding!
